Co-founder & Initiator, My Voice Unheard, I aim to collaborate design thinking approach and the exploration of new media tools through visual story-telling and self-expression to highlight the invisible voices in our community. I completed my Undergrad from FC in Psychology and Philosophy and am currently pursuing Masters in Psychology with a concentration in Social, Cognition and Development from The New School, NY, USA.
My early education was in a Catholic School and up until College, I never thought I would be interested in social change and be able to participate in International educational Programs. But, my journey began with my participation in Global Undergrad Exchange program in Pennsylvania, USA, after which I knew I had to work hard enough to get through Fulbright. For me it was the only way of doing my Masters.
With this goal, I always kept myself engaged in part-time work or volunteering all through my undergrad. Though I had a lot of interest in Philosophy, I was sure that Psychology is something that I want to pursue as a career, at the same time, I wanted to make a difference.
Hence, I worked with numerous organisations such as Rabtt, YES Network Pakistan, British Council, Catholic Board of Education, The History Project, Akhuwat as a trainer and a researcher to know what I really liked. I also diversified my commitments to social work by volunteering for international organizations such as A World at School, YMCA and United Ways.
I wanted to apply to Fulbright because for me, it was a target that I had put in all my effort since Undergrad and directed my work and education to achieve this goal. For me it was a process spread over years of work and not just a decision that I made abruptly. Hence, I believe that once you have a larger goal, strive towards it with all energy, hope and passion and it will eventually be in your way.
