Chevening Scholarships are awarded to outstanding emerging leaders to pursue a one-year master’s degree in any UK university. The scholarship programme provides a unique opportunity for future leaders, influencers, and decision-makers from all over the world for professional and academic mentoring, networking, extensively experiencing United Kingdom’s culture, and building lasting positive relationship with UK.

Step 1: Check the Eligibility Criteria

Step 2: Fill the application Form

Fill the basic information part of application.

Step 3: Select the Universities and Programs

Select the universities and courses there is a wide variety available in Chevening scholarship. You must choose three different courses. All those courses have some purpose to fulfil for you both in career and personal development.


Step 4: Complete Application Essays

There are four essays that must be written. So, this is the most important part of the scholarship application and you must write these essays to the best of your abilities.

  • Essay questions of 500 words

  • Leadership and Influence Question

Chevening is looking for individuals that will be future leaders and influencers in their home countries. Explain how you meet this requirement, using clear examples of your own leadership and influencing skills to support your answer.

  • Networking Question

Chevening is looking for individuals with strong networking skills, who will engage with the Chevening community and influence and lead others in their chosen profession. Explain how you would meet this requirement, using clear examples of your networking skills, and outline how you hope to use these skills in the future.

  • Studying in the UK Question

Outline why you have selected your chosen three university courses, and explain how this relates to your previous academic or professional experience and your plans.

  • Career Plan Question

Chevening is looking for individuals who have a clear post-study career plan. Outline your immediate plans upon returning home and your longer-term career goals, considering how these relate to UK priorities in your country.

Step 5: Apply to the Scholarship

The beauty of Chevening is that it doesn’t burdens you with unnecessary documents and tests until you qualify for the interview. IELTS is needed but you can take it until July of the next year since the scholarship opening date.
