VO: Pass me your documents. Me: Here you go (Passed) VO: Where are you going? Me: Albany, NY. VO: What program? Me: Masters in Public Administration & Policy. VO: Why did you choose this university? Me: Because of the college's ranking in my discipline and also because I have been offered a fellowship. (I was visibly nervous and struggling with answers) VO: Who will sponsor your education? Me: My father. VO: What does your father do? Me: He is retired from armed forces in March 2018. (I ended my answer here without mentioning his future job prospects) VO: How many dependents? Me: 3 VO: (Passed the yellow page) Sorry, based on today's interview, I can't grant you visa.


I contacted ScholarDen right after my rejection and went with better preparation next time.

VO: Your documents please. Me: Sure (Passed) VO: You were in the US for 6 weeks last time you visited?! (She was reading my application on her comp) Me: Yes ma'am. VO: What were you doing there for 6 weeks? Me: I was attending my cousin's wedding. VO: For 6 weeks?! (She was surprised a wedding could go on this long) Me: After the wedding I spent time vacationing as I had recently graduated. VO: Which program are you going for? Me: Master's in Public Administration & Policy. VO: How many schools did you apply to? Me: 3 VO: Did you take GRE? Me: Yes. (Passed her the score report) VO: What will you do after you graduate? Me: I will pursue academics & continue my research work. VO: But what job will you do after you graduate? Me: I will teach and side by side continue my research. VO: Who will pay for education? Me: My father. VO: What does your father do? Me: He's an engineer, he served in armed forces till March 2018 and from next month on wards he'll be joining an engineering consultancy firm, I have his offer letter with me if you want to see. VO: Can I see the bank statement? Me: Sure. (Passed) VO: Very well ma'am, your visa is approved. I followed ScholarDen's advice as it is. Gave the answers discussed with him and remained very calm.
